So....my kid the same with finger nail polish on my moms brand new cabin. We moved in that night and he decided to have a little fun! The carpet guys told us finger nail polish....it worked on SOME of it. We basically had to have them patch the carpet! I am interested in other answers!
Well I know that baking soda and vinegar get rid of dog pee and throwup.
Umm..Peroxide has bleaching powers, test a little section first.
that's all I can think of.
OH! Call a carpet guy and ask him.
You should try a green machine. They are little spot carpet cleaners and a life savor. The cleaning salution you put in them is Bissel brand. It has worked every time for me. Good luck.
I was gonna say baking soda and vinegar too... it makes a volcano! then you let it dry and vaccum over it or pick at it to remove. I've also used my dish detergent- Dawn with Bleach alternative, to remove colored stains. Do you have a steam cleaner? If you need to, you can borrow mine. It's a bissel.
so did you try anything yet or are you waiting for the stain to set in and get worse?
Amy, thank for the support and comment on my blog. You made me feel better. I was thinking since we live so closer together you and I should go for walks in the morning. What do you think?
Just move. That's why we're in our 14th place since we've been married.
Just browsing and found your plea... from one mom to another... :)
Here's what I did. I took a bowl of warm soapy water. I used green colored dawn. I'm not sure what other dish soaps could work. I took a light colored wash cloth and soaked it in the soapy water to get it sopping wet. Then I placed the wash cloth on top of the stain and I put a steaming hot iron on it. I left the iron steaming on the washcloth until it was almost dry. I repeated this process all over the stains.
I noticed instantly that the washcloth was red on the bottom. That told me that the stain was coming out...at least a little. Every little bit helps. So I repeated this process over and over again for about 2 hours. It worked! :) Good Luck!
