Curiousity Killed the Cat

Hey, I am just curious, and maybe this is one of those "TABOO" questions. But I was wondering who everyone is voting for this year for the Pres??? And why?? And does anyone know if I can still get an apsentee ballott?? Or is it too late?? Anyway, if you feel like it, pretend that I know nothing about the candidates, and tell me why I should vote for either guy. I am not on the fence, but either way I see it I am unsure and that is a scary thought. And I seriously am not going to judge you for any opinions or anything, so just lay it all out there for a girl like me to understand!!!

Yay or Nay??

I have a question that I thought would be interesting conversation that I wanted to pose to all of you.
What is your opinion/ feeling/ belief about Permanent Makeup???
If you don't know what it is, basically it is a tattoo that you can get on your eyes, eyebrows, cheeks, and lips to look like your makeup. That way you never have to apply any.
I know that our church says "No tattoos." But it isn't like you are getting a big fat heart with the word Mom in the middle you know??? I mean, everyday us women mark ourselves with eyeliner pencils and stuff, so is it really any different????
For Christmas, I am asking to be able to get my eyeliner done. I am so sick of putting it on everyday, and taking it off every night. My opinion is that since we pretty much color on ourselves everyday, and it isn't gauddy like a real tattoo, then I think it is acceptable.
What is your opinion??

Got Teeth??

Yesterday the kids got to go to the dentist for the very first time!!! And they LOVED IT!!!! If any of you are looking for a GREAT dentist for your kids, look no further. You MUST take them to Dr. Tyler Carter. Do any of you know Jennie Stradling Carter??? It is her husband! He was SOOOOOOOO Good with the kids. And the office is AMAZING!!! The office is called Kids First Dental and it is on Gilbert and Queen Creek Rd. It was an absolutlely amazing experience, and I have been dreading taking them to the dentist, but I am so glad I took them there. Click HERE to see their website and information. Or you could go to Jennie and Tyler's blog on my friends list on the side of my blog. Seriously take your kids there! Ok, now for the run down......

In the cleaning room they have a tv and some awesome little cars and fire trucks for the kids to play in.

Austin went first. Seriously, they were both sooooo brave. They didn't cry, scream or anything. They just chilled the whole time, and they loved every minute of it. Of course Dr. Tyler was really good at making sure they knew what was going on and making every second of it fun for them.

Then little Zoe bear went. Again, quiet as a mouse. I was SOOOO proud of them. Dr. Tyler asked her where she got such good teeth and she told him that she bought them at Target. Silly girl.

They they both got some "pictures" of their teeth taken (xrays). Notice Zoe wearing her princess "glass slippers" as she calls them. She can't ever leave home without those things.

Then they got to see the xrays and see what their permanent teeth will look like when they come in. The top pic is Zoe's xrays and the bottom one is Austin's.

After the kids were done, Dr. Tyler gives them a gold coin that they get to put in the machine and get a prize for being so good! The kids thought this was the coolest thing ever.

From the visit, we found out that they both have 20 teeth, Zoe has NO cavities, and Austin has 4 CAVITIES!!! Yikes. So we have to go back soon and get that done. They gave us an estimate and said it would be about $230 to fill them. Austin is actually excited to go back and get his cavities fixed! Anyway, so seriously, take your kids to Kids First Dental!!! It seriously is the best place ever.

Sleepover At Addison's House

Last week Austin's bestest friend was on Fall Break, a little thing I like to call "Teacher is Being Lazy" week. Anyway, so Austin got to go over there for a sleepover! The boys have been wanting to do this forever. Here are some pics!
First up is a picture of them playing the Indiana Jones Lego video game. See the concentrated look on my sons face??

The sleeping quarters.

Look at the freshly awoken faces. Even right when they wake up they are still extremely handsome don't you think??

Shannon decided to show me up and make not just pancakes for them, but MICKEY MOUSE pancakes. Of course, she wouldn't be my friend if she wasn't as into Disney as us!

The boys got to play something called Light Beam Tag with R2D2. Austin really loved that. You know, cuz he LOVES R2D2.

Thanks for having Austin over you guys. He loved it!!

Tumbleweed Park

Before I start this post, I just thought you should know that right now, October 22, I am listening to CHRISTMAS MUSIC. Scoff all you want people, it IS happening.

Now that we got that out of the way, I wanted to share some pictures with you of the kids whilst they frolicked at Tumbleweed Park with their mutual friend Addison. And for you new-comers, No, I don't really talk like that. For heaven's sake, Golly Gee Sakes Alive, people.
Now, you in the back, are you paying attention here?? This picture of Zoe below is a PRIME example of the cuteness that sometimes takes over me and makes my hands involuntarily start to pinch and otherwise cause loving motherly harm upon her sweet supple cheeks. I just can't stand the thought that someday soon, that little face might start to thin out. I will die. JUST DIE I TELL YOU! I will especially miss the way that my lips will just sink into them like a soft down pillow when I kiss them. I mean just look at them. The chunkyness of them all. So chunky. K, that word is really annoying. But her cheeks, need I say more?? I do?? Okay, they are so
chunky-licious.
The kids love this park. The End.

Smart Boy

I have to tell you this because it made me laugh. I was just putting Austin to bed, and Austin wanted to see my stitches that I got from having a bad skin freckle thing removed. So I showed him. As I was walking out he said " Mom, I have one more question." I said "What?" to which he asked me "Do freckles make people cranky??" He was hoping that because I got my freckle removed, that I wouldn't be cranky anymore. I said "Why, because you think I have been cranky??" He laughed and said "Yes!" That is either really funny or terribly sad!!! I have been a little cranky lately, and now my 5 year old has called me out on it. I am going to go eat a chocolate bar now.
But oh how I love you Austin!

Travis and I (for Rachel)

Rachel wanted me to blog about me and Travis. I hate to dissapoint, so here you have it!!
On Super Bowl Sunday in 2002, my friends Alexis, Kayci and Alison seriously dragged me to this stupid Super Bowl Party at our friend Jeremy's house from the singles ward that we were going to. I remember feeling like I was dragged there because I SOOOOO did not want to go. I actually had other plans that night, with a BOY!!! I just remember complaining the whole way over and I kept thinking to myself I am leaving as soon as I can. I was quite the bitter girl. I wonder if they even remember that. Anyway, we get there, we walk in, and I see tons of people watching football. My eyes immediatly focus though on this guy sitting on the couch, massaging some skanky girls shoulders.
He is really cute, I thought to myself. But he is obviously taken.
Because I am in no mood to talk to anyone because I am just being bitter and trying to make a point to my friends that I really don't want to be there, I go to the back of the room and into the kitchen where people are scarce. There is just one guy in their, a friend of mine, and he is making the dinner. I ask if I can help him, little did he know it was so I didn't have to go watch football.
From the kitchen I can still see everyone in the front room watching the stinking Super Bowl. I for some reason keep looking at that guy sitting there with that girl. I notice how he is the hottest guy in the room by far. Next thing I know, the guy gets up out off the couch, and comes into the kitchen. I don't say anything. He gets a cup out of one of the cupboards and gets some water.
Oh, he is getting some water for his girlfriend down there, I tell myself.
With my back turned to him now, I continue to cook. Then I see someone stand beside me. I look over, and the cute guy from the couch says something to me. I wish I remember what Travis's first words to me were, but because I was in shock that the hot guy from the party was talking to me, I have no idea! Anyway, from that second on he stood in the kitchen talking to me. I loved every minute of it, but I kept wondering something.
Doesn't he CARE at all that his girlfriend is watching us talk for this long?? Is he like a player or something??
So I finally asked him...
Shouldn't you go back to your girlfriend down there??
To which he told me she wasn't his girlfriend at all, just a girl that like him alot. That same thing could be said for a LOT OF GIRLS in our singles ward. Example- The Relief Society President was apparently in love with Travis, and when we started officially dating and it got serious, she turned into Super @*#$*! on me and said the most horrible things to me and about me in Relief Society. AND she tried to break us up by talking to Travis and my friend Jeremy (Travis's roomate) behind my back!!! Jeremy said that she asked him to try to make us see that we shouldn't be together, and that instead SHE and TRAVIS should be together!!! SKANK!!!! Can you believe that??
Anyway, it obviously never worked because 2 months after we met we were engaged. Oh and that night (superbowl night) there was a Fireside at the church building that I was going to with my friends, again cuz they were making me, and I asked him to go with me. He left the Super Bowl and came with me. THAT IS HOW I KNOW THAT HE LIKED ME! I didn't know this at the time, but Travis has never missed a Super Bowl in his life, but he left before that one was even over, just to come and hang out with me some more!
Our first date was about a week or so after we met. We went to Chilis, I think goofy golfing, and then to the movies. For some reason, out of all the movie choices I picked BIG FAT LIAR. I have NO idea why I picked that movie. I didn't even know what it was, all I knew was that it was a kids movie. Travis later told me that when I chose that he thought, Wow, if this works out with her I will never be able to see a normal movie in a movie theater again!!
He asked me to marry him on April 23, 2002. I had just gotten done playing some good pick up volleyball, and he had called me to see if I wanted to get a bite to eat. Of course I ALWAYS wanted to see him, so I said sure.
We just went to Applebee's. I am not a fan. But I didn't really care that night for some reason. After that we went walking around the Temple, and were just talking up a storm as usual. I was all stinky and sweaty in my vball clothes. We had had many walks around the temple as he lived over in that area. The first time we ever talked about getting married was on one of the benches at the temple.
He started to get all mushy on me (and I am sure you can imagine my excitement over the mush). He started saying things like Someday when we go to Golfland we can tell our kids that that was where we went on our first date, and that that bench over there was where we decided that we wanted to get married to eachother, and THEN he got down on one knee right in front of the visitors center with a ring in his hand and said And this is where we can tell our children that I asked you to marry me. I said YES obviously. We then got married on July 12, 2002. So we have been married almost 6 1/2 years. I can't believe it has been that long! Anyway, that is the story of how Travis and I got together. The short and sweet version if you can believe it. It is funny because I DESPISE football. Always hated the Super Bowl, and now I have it to thank, (and my old roomates) for meeting my husband!!!

My Schedule (for Kayci)

Kayci had requested to know what it is that I do everyday. This was the easiest topic out of all the ones requested, so I will start with this one. Here we go!
MONDAY-WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY
7:30- Wake Up, gets kids fed, bathed, dressed in a hurry.
8:40- Leave for their preschools.
8:45- Turn around and come home because one of them forgot a backpack or something.
8:50- K, now we drive to school.
9:00- Say "I Love U's" and they go into their classes.
9:10- I show up early for my chiropractic appointment .
9:30ish- I think "What should I do NOW for an hour 1/2"???
9:31ish-11:00- I proceed to do nothing for another hour 1/2. Sometimes my Mom comes with me so it is better. Sometimes I just take the book that I am currently reading and just read. Sometimes I "window shop". Sometimes I go see if my little friend can come out and play. (Diesel)
11:00- I pick up Zoe.
11:30- I pick up Austin from his little Math session of preschool.
11:45- Sometimes me and the kids go eat a little lunch at a place of their choosing (one day a week).
12-6- Depending on what is going on that day I either clean, read, nap while Zoe is napping, or play with Austin, or whatever.
6ish- Travis gets home.
6:30ish- We eat dinner.
7-8:30- Travis plays with the kids till they go to bed.
9ish- Kids go to bed.
9:10-??? We stay up watching all our shows. Actually right now we are watching all the seasons of Angel, so that would be more accurate.
K, so that is what we do 3 out fo the 5 days of the week. And seriously Tuesday and Thursday I couldnt even tell you what we do. We have no classes or anything those days. We usually sleep in a little, maybe go to Tumbleweed Park or somewhere, the Library, you know stuff like that.
So, now you pretty much know where we will be during the week!!!
