Pieces of Flair

Shannon has a face book page thing-a-majigger, and they have this thing on there called Pieces of Flair. Its just like these button things, and they have them for all kinds of things, but in the spirit of this upcoming book of awesomeness, I made a Twilight one. So if you never really could tell quite how I felt about the books or MY boyfriend Edward, well you will now. That's right, back off!!! He's mine!!!! You can have Jacob!

How To Throw An Impromptu Birthday Party

Austin finally had a birthday party last Friday. He wanted a Star Wars bday party. Before we moved, I had this awesome party planned in my head, complete with an appearance from Darth Vader himself and awesome pool noodle light sabers for all the kids. Um, that SO didn't happen. Why?? Because Austin's mom is lame! He also wanted an R2D2 cake. That sort of happened. You see, a month ago- A MONTH AGO- I put an ad on craigslist asking anyone if I could borrow an R2D2 cake pan, since they no longer sell them ( they are like $100 on ebay). I got this one guy who said he had one, and as long as I gave him some money to hold it till I returned it, it would be no problem. So that was the plan. Night before the party he calls and says that he can't find it and forgot that is was in storage in Flagstaff. So its the night before this impromptu party and I have no cake, and no mold for the cake. I finally just had to form one myself. Anyway, so that sucked. But I made one, and lets just say it might look decent from afar. But that is it.
Ok, so R2D2 cake? Check. I had emailed some friends and family the night before. Yes, you heard me. Night before. I told you this was an impromptu party. We just went to the Espee Park Splash Pad for some water fun, and then later, some star wars cake. I think the kids had fun. Here are some pics-

Austin loves playing with his cousins and friends! Then he opened some presents (thank you everyone!)

Blew out some candles on the cake. Oh, and he only got 4 candles. IMPROMPTU PARTY, PEOPLE. That's all I had at the last minute.

Now this next picture is of Austin playing on the playground with his pants down to his ankles. He couldnt pull them up because he was holding onto the thingy that he was spinning around on. We had a good laugh. It is kind of hard to see but he is wearing his Birthday Suit here.

So what was Zoe doing this whole time?? Playing the song from the Star Wars card Grandma Campbell gave Austin. And eating lots of cake. And asking for more and more cake. And getting more and more cake. And storming off into the nearby field because I cut her off from the cake. And then coming back to the party to ask Grandma for more cake. And then getting more cake from Grandma.

Look at her here, looking all innocent. "My Mom said I could have some more cake, if you would just get it for me?? (sucka!)"

Anyway, that was it in a nutshell. I am glad it is over. Now it is time to freaking plan Zoe's. Oh, and the cake wouldn't have been finished if it weren't for my Mom and Cassie coming over to help me with the kids and the stars, my hair wouldn't have gotten done if not for Cassie, and I would have no picture of Austin blowing out candles if not for Kristal. So thanks for everyone's help. One party down, one more to go!

Yay for August!

I am looking forward to August for a plethora of reasons. Do you like that word? Plethora? That is how excited I am for this month. Ok, here is why.

AUGUST 2

First and foremost, the 4th Twilight book called Breaking Dawn is coming out in 2 days. Travis just told me he read somewhere that Stephanie Meyer is going to write a 5th one from Edwards perspective. That just doesn't seem right to me. Has anyone else heard that?? Look at this cover. I love it. What are your guesses of how this series will end? Will Edward let Bella become a vamp so they can live together forever?? He'd better by golly!

AUGUST 12

The Jo Bros new album comes out!!!! Yay!! It is called A Little Bit Longer. Have I mentioned I love them??

AUGUST 15

This one excites me because I know how much Austin will love it. It is the new Star Wars flick. It is called The Clone Wars.I can't wait to take him to that! I am sure that Zoe will love it too. With all the Transformer and Star Wars talk that goes on around here, she is beginning to love it as much as Austin does!

AUGUST 19

This one is exciting for me and Travis because we LOVE this show. Have you guys heard of it?? It is about a serial killer who is a blood analyst with the Miami PD, and he only kills the bad guys. GREAT show. It comes out on DVD soon. We have been waiting months for this.

AUGUST 21

Then Zoe will be turning 3 on the 21st. I can't wait for her Bday party because I get to make this awesome looking princess castle cake. She is very excited too. She asks me almost everyday if it is her "bowfday" yet. Now you guys can't let me get lazy and not plan her party on time like I did for Austin's ok???!!!! Ok.
So that is all I can remember as far as the goings on in August. If I have forgotten anything, just let me know. But now you know what I will be doing then!!

Cooking 101

So, my peeps. Help a girlfriend out. I need some new dinner ideas. We are talking easy peesy lemon squeezy here. What are some easy, yet equally delicious meals that I can make?? It can be anything. Pastas, meats. Ooh, I have a bag of chicken in the freezer- QUICK! What should I do with it??? Oh, and it has to be dairy free. So no cheese or milk. Capeesh?? Go.

Little Angels You Might Say

On Diesel's blessing day I took these pics of the kids. Cuz I love them. And cuz they looked so stinking cute. And cuz I just felt like it, ok? Geesh. Above, you will see 2 total cheeseballs. Good thing I love cheese.

Austin Can Swim!!

Last week Austin finally mastered swimming with no floaties on!! I am very proud of him. He has been swimming ever since FLOATIE-FREE. Yesterday we went to Cassies neighborhood pool and swam all day. I got a ton of pics of the kids jumping in the pool together, and I couldn't pick just one cuz they all make me laugh! So, sorry, you will see them all dag-nabit and I don't want to hear any lip about it ya' hear? As if that wasn't enough, here are some videos of them jumping in. I know, you are so excited you can't stand it right?? Me too. This first one is Zoe doing a "Candonbaaw". WATCH IT!! IT IS ONLY LIKE 20 SECONDS PEOPLE!

I don't think you have seen enough of my kids jumping in the pool, so here. This one is for you.

They Say the Darndest Things

I have been meaning to write a post about some of the funny things that the kids have said over the last few weeks, and now it is going to seem like I am copying Jana because she just posted about a funny thing Roman said.... but I promise I was really going to do this before I saw her blog!!! Cross my heart!! Ok, so here they are.

Well for starters, the kids both say SPAGHETTI weird. Actually, more like cute. Austin has graduated from calling it "PIECE-A-DETTI" to "SPADETTI". So that is improvement. Zoe is calling it "GUB-GETTI". Do I try to correct these things they say wrong??? No way, it is WAY cuter this way. Oh, and can someone please tell me what the secret is to cooking the right amount of spaghetti noodles??? No matter what, I always make either TOO much or TOO little. Annoying! Then last Saturday, we were taking a walk, and some of our neighbors had these topiary things outside. Austin said "Look Dad! Snowman trees!!" like he was at the zoo or something. Very exciting.

In our family we like to joke about having stinky feet, and I asked Zoe if Jasmine had stinky feet. Her response was,

" No! Hew waywth shoeth!!!" Did you get that?? She said "No! Her wears shoes!!!"
(That is supposed to be a picture of Jasmine's stinky feet.. haha)
I also think it is really funny that Austin knows what Zoe is saying more than we do. He is seriously her translater. When we don't know what she is saying, she will roll her eyes and immediatly look at Austin, knowing he knows what she said and will now translate for us.
I know there were MANY others cuz I have been storing them in the back of my brain everytime they say something blog-worthy, but alas I have forgotten. But I like that someday they can look back at this and see how funny they were.
*** Here are some things I forgot. Zoe says "like" and "legs" like "YIKE" and "YEGS". She says " I LUB YOU" for I love you, and she calls a bathing suit a "BEEBING SOUP." Her babies are "BEEBIES" and she will often say "I NOT A BEEBIE! I A BI GOWL!"

*** Oh, I just remembered some more. Austin and Zoe play "I Spy" in the car all the time. Austin says " I HIGH SPY something...." and when it is Zoe's turn she says " I SOMEPING PY....." ( I something spy, totally backwards huh?) And today in the car, Travis and I were talking about how the desk that the computer sits on kills my back and I want a new better one because I have to lean over it to reach the keyboard. Austin chimed in and said " Mom, you should just get a new back instead." I WISH AUSTIN!!!

Next blog post will be "Austin Learned How To Swim!!!". Now you can't say I copied anyone's blog post!

Memories

I think this could be very fun.. ya'll should do it!!
Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.Get going.. think of your favorite "Amy" memory.

Our 6th Anniversary!

Today is our 6th anniversary. Can you believe it??? 6 years sounds like such a long time!!! So on this day I thought that I would list the Top 6 things that I love about Travis! ( In no particular order)
1. I love that he knows EVERYTHING about music. Who sings it, when the album was made, info on the band members, words to any song any genre, any era. I can ask him anything about pretty much any song and he has an answer.
2. I love when he tries to dance. Then he stops like 5 seconds into it, because lets face it, it is pretty goofy. But I wouldn't mind seeing him finish a dance one of these days. Which brings us to the next thing I love....
3. I love when he tries to make me laugh. He has such a fun and goofy side to him that he doesn't
show everyone and I wish he did becuase he can be QUITE hilarious! There have been many a good roll on the ground due to very strong pee your pants laughter!
4. He knows how to make me happy, and he is always trying to do so. Not only me, but he cares about the kids happiness too. He would do anything he could for us and I know that.
5. He is a hard worker. He NEVER complains and is always willing to serve. He makes people feel special.
6. Lastly, He puts up with me. And you guys know me.... I am a tough one to handle sometimes. But he does it everyday, so I know he MUST love me to still be here, handling my un-handlable nature at times. He not only loves me, but he loves our kids and is a WONDERFUL daddy. We all look forward to 4 or 5 everyday when he gets home from work. He is by FAR the most popular person in this house I can gaurantee you that!
So, Happy 6th Anniversary Travis! I love you!!!!

Blogging Garage Sale!

I am in anti-garage sale mode right now, but sooooo have a bunch of stuff that I need to sell because either a)there is no room for it in this house, or b) I don't use it ever, or c) I plain just don't want it anymore. So I thought before I put things on ebay and craigslist, I would give all my fave people a chance at them first. Not that they are that great of stuff, but you never know. And if you are interested in one of these things, just email me at johnfamily2002@yahoo.com k?? Cool! So here is what I have....
Brand New Breadmaker. Used once. If you know me, you know I do not cook, let alone make HOMEADE things. Makes horizontal bread.
Kirklands Black mirror with shelf.
Brand New Pampered Chef Easy Accent Decorator. My guess is that it easily accents decorated cakes.

Microwave. Old model,but works.
Gold mirror. Would be so cute black or something. I wish I had somewhere for this to go, but I just don't.

3 metal tiles. From Kirklands. Really cute. 12x12. Again, I love these, but don't know where to put them.

So just email me or comment if any of these things interest you. If not, then I guess I will just have to do the dreaded craigslist thing! K, thanks!

Because of Jana

I got my hands on my cousin Jana's black backdrop thing and I totally experimented with it. It was time for some new pics of the kids. I think that for the most part they turned out pretty cute! What do you think?? I gotta tell ya, I think I love these kids a little too much.

Oh, and the cutsie was there also.

No, not me silly.

Diesel... DUH!

He sure is one tough cookie to take pics of. This was the best we could do. But it isn't too shabby I don't think.

So we got all moved into our new house last Saturday, hence the un- updated blog this week. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED US MOVE!!!!!! You guys are all so awesome and we appreciate everything you did for us!!!!! Thank you!!!!!

All Grown Up

Look who got a haircut!! This is Austin's first REAL short boy haircut. He has always had the long shag, since he was a baby! I was really sad to let him do it, but I do like it a lot. I miss it when he wears hats though!! No more cool hair sticking out the sides. Oh well, he looks so dang grown up with his new doo. He is so awesome! (And so handsome in my opinion!)
