One More Thing

One more thing to embarrass Travis! A while ago, back when we were having trouble with our truck, we were going to go eat at our friends house. (I took out the names so no one would get embarrased) I asked Travis to email and let them know when we would get there. He sent this email to them, and didn't even tell me it was so dang funny! When we got there, my friend said: Travis that was a VERY funny email you sent us! So I came home and read it, and laughed my butt off. I like that he has this quiet funny person living inside of him... but I also wish he would show it off more! I see it from him all the time, but I would love for all of you to see him when he can let loose. Anyway, here is the email, and he will probably be very embarrased that I put it on here. But he was just being goofy that day I guess.

Dearest so and so and so and so ,

I am writing this email to inform you of our scheduled arrival time this afternoon for dinner. First off, thank you for your gracious invitation and we are honored that you feel we are close enough friends to share dinner with. Our family will be attending church services today until 3p.m. pacific time, after which, we will begin our journey towards your home with an estimated time of arrival at around 4p.m. We are eagerly looking forward to dinner. One simple request from Mrs. John would be that discussion not include our vehicle hardships. It is a sensitive subject that we hope to keep out of the forefront today due to stress. If there are any problems with our arrival time please let us know.

Thank you again for your invitation,

Travis John

Calvin and Hobbes

So a few weeks ago I woke up to hysterical laughing. You would think it would be the sound of children's laughter that would wake me, but lo and behold, it was a grown man. The man I speak of is Travis. He was laughing UNCONTROLLABLY. I got out of my bed to find him sitting in the rocking chair, tears rolling down his cheeks, struggling to breathe. What would make a 30 year old man laugh so hard that he cries? Calvin and Hobbes. A few years ago, he mentioned to me that he loved those comics, and I was familiar with them because my Grandpa used to read them and laugh just as hard as Travis does. So I had bought him the same Calvin and Hobbes book my Grandpa had. So Travis had dug it out of the closet and started reading it. Hence the laughing 30 year old. Austin was like, "Dad, read it to me!!" So he started reading it out loud to him, and that lasted 4 seconds flat because he was already in hysterics again. Austin was like "What is so funny Daddy??" At one point he was laughing for seriously 5 minutes straight over the same joke. I just thought that this was really funny to watch. So that is what I did. I watched him read Calvin and Hobbes because it was more entertaining than anything else going on that day.

The Cali Trip

So the trip was so fun. We woke up at 4 a.m. so that we could get to the airport and try to fly standby because Travis had originally scheduled a 2:50 flight out of Phoenix. Hello? What a waste of a day if we don't even get there till 4 or 5 right? So we get to the airport at about 5 or 5:30 a.m. I know right? Me at 5 in the morning? Walking zombie usually, but not that day. I was very stoked. Well I was actually wishing I could just go home and be with my kids because I seriously thought I was going to die in a plane crash. But, we made the first flight out at 7 a.m and landed like at 8 or so. So once I was on land again, the stoke fest began. Here is our plane. And even more amazing, me at 5 a.m.
This is a pic I took from the plane. This white stuff looks like snow, yes?? It is clouds! I don't know why but I was so amazed by this. Travis had fun making fun of me over that.

So we land at LAX and we go get our rental car which was a little PT Cruiser. Then we drove to Disneyland and played all day. For some reason, the first 3 days were EXHAUSTED. We hadn't even done anything yet, and we were so tired. We probably walked 100 miles or so the whole trip. And I didn't take a lot of pictures like I thought that I would, so sorry about that. But you can only take so many pictures of you and your hubby doing nothing right?? We got to ride all the rides that we never get to ride together because someone always has to stay out with Zoe, and ate lots of goodies like Pineapple Whips, Cream Cheese FILLED pretzels, hot chocolate, churros, and tons of other crap. Anyway, so it was Dland wednesday and most of the day thursday. That night we were scheduled to go see the play Wicked at the Pantages Theater. So we drove up to Hollywood and go see it. It was AMAZING. It was the highlight of the trip for me by far. Then the next day we went to Dland till it was time to go eat and see my man. So we went to Tony Roma's for dinner, then went to the concert. The Honda Center (where the concert was) is only like 5 miles from Dland, but traffic was so bad to get into that place that we missed the openeing act which was Daughtry, entirely. We literally walked in, and the lights went down and Bon Jovi came out. So at least we didn't miss any of his show! But it was amazing as always. Oh and Chris Daughtry came out and sang a duet with Jon during "Blaze of Glory". And there was this totally drunk girl sitting in front of us that was almost more entertaining than anything else. Guess you had to be there.Does this seem fair to anyone else? I am his biggest fan, and he never comes out to the part of the audience I am in. Not cool!

Jon, Richie, Tico and David saying goodbye!

The next day we went whale watching in Dana Point. We got onto a big boat, and went out on the ocean, and almost got sea sick. But, we did get to see some whale and her calf migrating back to the Bering Sea. All we could see were their backs, but it was still cool. And when were still in the bay, there was a freaking sea lion swimming so close to the shore... I couldn't believe how close it was to the town. I want to live there!!
Ok, so then we drove back to Dland where we would play for the rest of the day. When we got there, I was like "I am NOT bringing my camera anymore because we havent been taking any pictures." So I left my camera in the car. Guess what happened next? I get into Dland, and guess who were about 10 feet away from?? Ben Stiller, his wife Christine Taylor, and Geena Davis. They were waiting for the parade to start up at the train station on Main Street. Yeah, I was mad I didn't have my camera, but if I had brought it, I am preety sure that the picture I would have taken would have looked something like this.....

Oh, and we totally ran into our chiropractor in Dland by Thunder Mountain . Weird right???

Oh and we ate at the Blue Bayou that night. You know that little resteraunt that you can see people eating at when you are on the ride Pirates of the Carribean?? That is where we ate. And we sat at a table right next to the water. It was pretty cool cuz we have always wanted to eat there.

Ok, so that was our trip in a nutshell. Sorry about the lack of quality pics, but we had fun, and I can't wait to go back!!!

We Love You Tink

This morning, our cute little puppy Tink passed away. From her symptoms the vet said that is was Parvo. It is a dog disease that is highly fatal in dogs under 1 yr old and it results in almost instant death. I went to go check on her this morning when we woke up, and she was curled up in her bed, gone. She must have gone in her sleep. We are all very sad today about this. We loved our little Tinky! We would call her our little Tinky Winky, or Stinky Tinky. She was the most sweet little dog you ever knew. She loved to be held, loved her belly rubbed, she just loved people. She was so playful and had such a great personality. She was only 2 pounds. I am so sad that she only had 4 months here with us. Austin is having a hard time with it. He keeps asking if she is ever going to come back, and saying that he misses her. We told him that she is living in Heaven with our Heavenly Father and that he is going to take care of her from now on. He is just having a hard time thinking about never seeing her again. The kids decorated a little box for her and drew her some pictures to put in her "casket" that we burried her in. Austin drew his picture of himself with Tink, and Zoe drew Tink also. She always called her "My Tinky". When we buried her, Austin said "Bye Tink, We love you." And Zoe in her sweet little voice copied what he said. It was so sad. She just thinks Tink went bye bye. While we were burrying her, Austin kept asking "Why are we doing this to her?" These questions are very hard for me to answer because I am just so sad about losing her. It is very hard to keep a happy face on when all I want to do right now is cry. I just can't believe she is gone. We came home from our trip ready to get back to our life, and this was the last thing we thought would happen. We never expected this. Here are some pictures that we have of Tink.

Tinky you were a sweet dog and we love you and will miss you!

Finally

K, we are leaving at 4 a.m. tomorrow for Cali!!! Yay!!! Talk to you Monday!

Couldn't be cuter

I just want to point out how cute and adorable my 2 kids are. A few weeks ago, after a night out, Zoe fell asleep in the car. So when we got home we carried her into her room, and I was going to put her in her bed, but this picture will explain why I didn't- How cute is that?? Before we left she must have put her "babies ni-nigh". So I just put her on the floor, which she STILL PREFERS. Both my kids sleep on the floor even though they have awesome comfy beds to sleep in. Then I snapped one of the little thumbsucker. I love her.

Then on another night I had gone into Austin's room to check on him. This is what he had done.

He lined up all his Transformers in CAR FORM on his pillow. How cute! He treats them like they are real. The other day we played CandyLand, and Ratchett played with us. Austin insisted that Ratchett had a turn too. He is adorable and I love him too. I have the best kids ever!! I will miss them this week!!

Here are some easter pics too.
