How To Throw An Impromptu Birthday Party

Austin finally had a birthday party last Friday. He wanted a Star Wars bday party. Before we moved, I had this awesome party planned in my head, complete with an appearance from Darth Vader himself and awesome pool noodle light sabers for all the kids. Um, that SO didn't happen. Why?? Because Austin's mom is lame! He also wanted an R2D2 cake. That sort of happened. You see, a month ago- A MONTH AGO- I put an ad on craigslist asking anyone if I could borrow an R2D2 cake pan, since they no longer sell them ( they are like $100 on ebay). I got this one guy who said he had one, and as long as I gave him some money to hold it till I returned it, it would be no problem. So that was the plan. Night before the party he calls and says that he can't find it and forgot that is was in storage in Flagstaff. So its the night before this impromptu party and I have no cake, and no mold for the cake. I finally just had to form one myself. Anyway, so that sucked. But I made one, and lets just say it might look decent from afar. But that is it.
Ok, so R2D2 cake? Check. I had emailed some friends and family the night before. Yes, you heard me. Night before. I told you this was an impromptu party. We just went to the Espee Park Splash Pad for some water fun, and then later, some star wars cake. I think the kids had fun. Here are some pics-

Austin loves playing with his cousins and friends! Then he opened some presents (thank you everyone!)

Blew out some candles on the cake. Oh, and he only got 4 candles. IMPROMPTU PARTY, PEOPLE. That's all I had at the last minute.

Now this next picture is of Austin playing on the playground with his pants down to his ankles. He couldnt pull them up because he was holding onto the thingy that he was spinning around on. We had a good laugh. It is kind of hard to see but he is wearing his Birthday Suit here.

So what was Zoe doing this whole time?? Playing the song from the Star Wars card Grandma Campbell gave Austin. And eating lots of cake. And asking for more and more cake. And getting more and more cake. And storming off into the nearby field because I cut her off from the cake. And then coming back to the party to ask Grandma for more cake. And then getting more cake from Grandma.

Look at her here, looking all innocent. "My Mom said I could have some more cake, if you would just get it for me?? (sucka!)"

Anyway, that was it in a nutshell. I am glad it is over. Now it is time to freaking plan Zoe's. Oh, and the cake wouldn't have been finished if it weren't for my Mom and Cassie coming over to help me with the kids and the stars, my hair wouldn't have gotten done if not for Cassie, and I would have no picture of Austin blowing out candles if not for Kristal. So thanks for everyone's help. One party down, one more to go!
