Mrs. Jana, Here is my Homework.

This is an updated post! I have taken your advice and tried out what you said. Is it better?? I just put the new ones under the old ones.

Attention Jana and Kristal. My two PS gurus. Here is an attempt to do something cool with these pictures. Enlighten me, and be honest. Cuz me so dumb. I want to know WHAT looks bad, what SHOULD have been done, and IF I did anything right. Jana, I have the whole Gaussian Blur thing down now, thanks for that. I also figured out how to soften skin, but do you have to do that BEFORE you convert it to B&W? Also, am I supposed to save them to a certain size so that when they print them they stay that way? And do I have to do something with the resolution???

Sincerely,

Soooo many questions.

This one I just cropped, and sharpened it and softened Cassie's skin. I would have liked to get rid of that blue blanket in the corner. Don't know how.

This one, I did the blur thing, softened the skin, messed with the contrast but I don't know how, cropped it. Doesn't look right to me.

Note: Ok, here is the new one after this one. I did what you guys said, is it better?

Added text, and I don't remember what else. Bottom one is the fixed one.

Added text, softened skin, softened the picture a little bit. The bottom one is the fixed one.

Wow Amy! These look great - did you get a new camera or is this from the one you were telling me about? BTW I love the new header and background.

This is just from my camera, the one I LOVE! It is the Canon S515. Love it. Do you have one yet??

For Cassies b/w pic, it's a little dark. Goto level's and adjust the middle slider to the left. Or curves, pull the diagnal line up.

To get rid of the blanket, use the Clone tool.

make sense?

Yeah, I'd mess with the curves...pull the top of the diganola line to the left. The first one, I would mess with the curves a bit, but there will be shadows on cassies face no matter what. And I LOVe the last one. I'd pop the color, but I think that's a fetish that I have...obviously. Looks great though, come take our pictures now.

The redos look a lot better...another thing I'd do especially on that last one is go into selective coloring, put it on "red" and bring down the magenta tones by about 10 and the yellow by 7 or 8. BUt the #1 thing I'd do not that you have PS is BUY ACTIONS! They save so much time!!!! I'll e mail you some great sites with great actions.
