Digital Scrapbooking Help Needed

I totally want to start doing Digital Scrapbooking. I used to do actual scrapbooking all the time, but it has been 3 years since I have even touched it again! 3 years! Do you realize what that means?? That means that at least 3 years of both my kids lives haven't been scrapbooked!! TRAGIC, YES???? I feel like the worst mother of all time.
So I have come to the conclusion that Digital Scrapbooking would be a viable solution. It is cleaner, more convenient, and seems to be pretty easy.
But WHERE do I get all the crap to do it with?? Is it all free?? Will I have to buy most of the kits?? How do I print them and where (besides Shabby Princess) ?? And can I only make 8x8 pages, or can I still make 12x12 pages?? If I can make 12x12, then where can I take them to be printed at that size??? Are we talking a photo printing place or at home printing?? Prints on photo paper or real paper??
I obviously have lots of questions. I know of a few of you that have the answers. I really want to do this. Let's call it my New Years Resolution shall we?? To catch up on my kids scrapbooks. So anything ANY of you could tell me to get me started would be wonderful. Thank you!

I have no idea where to get them printed because I use mine for real scraping but I do have lots of free kits. Just googled free digital kits (I think I will find out for sure)

Hi Amy,

It's Ashley Williams...Travis's cousin. Here is a digital scrapping site that you may like http://www.twopeasinabucket.com.

You should also check out http://www.designaglow.com. They have cute album templates. You can get them printed at a professional print lab like Whcc.

I use parts of the kit I like and make it the size I want then print it on white card stock. I would do all digi but I have no idea where to print and I like doing it the real way. I am totally behind (well this year is up to date) but the others.. I have lots to do.

I'm with Shannon...nothin.

Just blog and print it up, you're kids will be just as happy, if no happier because the scrapbooking paper designs and colors will be out of date and ugly by the time they are our age and looking at them. haha! Can't wait for Friday, it's about time the Johns and Mulders go out again!

I say harass Ashley Fuller, since she's WAY INTO that kind of thing. AND- don't feel bad, I'm 3+ years behind too, but in my case it means I haven't even started on it! :)

I haven't paid for any of my digital stuff yet... every is willing to make and share for free! if you go to my ashscraps site i have a link for ikea goddess and she always has a list of freebies to download. check out the other site links I have too... I love all their work.

About printing... I used artscow to print the 8x8 book, but only becuase it was free. You can do 12x12 books too. Snapfish is another place. I just creat my pages on my own and save them as jpeg and upload them to the sites to print. Going through a site will be cheaper if you are wanting to print many pages (i.e. for a book), but I also just make my own 8x10 and have them printed at walmart when I do onsies and twosies. It all depends on how you want them displayed.
Sorry I wrote a novel... if you have any other questions let me know! I'll be glad to help!
