This morning, our cute little puppy Tink passed away. From her symptoms the vet said that is was Parvo. It is a dog disease that is highly fatal in dogs under 1 yr old and it results in almost instant death. I went to go check on her this morning when we woke up, and she was curled up in her bed, gone. She must have gone in her sleep. We are all very sad today about this. We loved our little Tinky! We would call her our little Tinky Winky, or Stinky Tinky. She was the most sweet little dog you ever knew. She loved to be held, loved her belly rubbed, she just loved people. She was so playful and had such a great personality. She was only 2 pounds. I am so sad that she only had 4 months here with us. Austin is having a hard time with it. He keeps asking if she is ever going to come back, and saying that he misses her. We told him that she is living in Heaven with our Heavenly Father and that he is going to take care of her from now on. He is just having a hard time thinking about never seeing her again. The kids decorated a little box for her and drew her some pictures to put in her "casket" that we burried her in. Austin drew his picture of himself with Tink, and Zoe drew Tink also. She always called her "My Tinky". When we buried her, Austin said "Bye Tink, We love you." And Zoe in her sweet little voice copied what he said. It was so sad. She just thinks Tink went bye bye. While we were burrying her, Austin kept asking "Why are we doing this to her?" These questions are very hard for me to answer because I am just so sad about losing her. It is very hard to keep a happy face on when all I want to do right now is cry. I just can't believe she is gone. We came home from our trip ready to get back to our life, and this was the last thing we thought would happen. We never expected this. Here are some pictures that we have of Tink.
Tinky you were a sweet dog and we love you and will miss you!

OMG!!!!!!! I just talked to travis and he didn't even tell me!! Amy I am soo sorry...oh this makes me so sad!! :(( I'm gonna miss that little tinky winky. :( wow I can't believe how sudden this is. :(
I'm sorry, that must be so hard for a little boy to go through. He was cute, for a dog.
Amy I am so sorry!! That is so hard to explain to kids!! But at the same time a great teaching momemt for them!! We do not have pets and that is one of the big reasons!! I do not handle that well!
Oh Amy, I'm so sorry. I don't even know how I would explain that to my kids. We had this happen to one of our dogs when I was younger and I don't even remember what my parents told me. You can borrow our dog. He's not cute at all but maybe it will make the kids feel better. Umm or maybe it won't. Never mind.
Wow that's really sad, I've never even heard of that, not that I've heard much about dogs, we'll I wish well to the John's. :(
Awww, that's really sad! That's like Kam's chick dying last week. She was screaming bawling. It was the saddest thing ever. We'll miss Tink, she brought a lot of joy to a lot of people!
That made me cry! I am having a hard enough time missing our dogs- all we did was give them away to really nice people. Kleven is having a really hard time too. I can't imagine what he'd be like if they'd actually passed away. I'm SO sorry! My only suggestion would be to compare it to the Easter story and remind them that we WILL see them again.
I'm so sorry! I know how much you wanted that doggie. Just hug your babies and tell them it is okay to be sad and that Tink is with Heavenly Father.
So, Amy this post is really sad, I need you to make up for it with a post of your amazing trip and your feelings about "wicked".
I didnt even have a chance to meet Tink. I think Tink and Brodey would have been the best of friends. So sad for the kids. You really get use to having a cuddle puppy around. Is Parvo something dogs can get easily??? I know nothing about it, but we lost our kitten at about 9 months to feline lukemia that could have been avoided with a shot:-(
Enough. My chest fluff is more important.
I am so sorry about your puppy, Tink. She looks like she was such an adorably sweet dog. It is so hard to lose a pet, they really become a part of the family.
Taylor, you must be confusing yourself with an actual man, because only they can grow "chest fluff".
